Hyper-Threading

The tradename for Intel's implementation of symetric multi-threading technology. Available in a number of Pentium 4, Pentium XE and Xeon processors, this technology allows a single core to appear to the OS as two logical processors. This allows more efficient use of processing resources in multithreaded programs.
